PANCH KEDAR DHAM
Panch kedar are five hindu temples or holy places of the shivaite sect dedicated to god shiva. They are located in the garhwal Himalayan region in uttrakhand, india. Many hindu legends link the connection of PANCH kedar to panch PANCH pandavas.
Tungnath Temple
Tungnath is the highest shiva temples in the world and is the highest of the panch kedar, tungnath was a peaceful adorned on the
Chandranath parvat. It is the third amongst the 5 pilgrims , tungnath is perched at an elevation of
3,680 meters above the sea level and it is considered as more than 1,000 years old.
Kedarnath temple
Kedarnath is a town in indian state of uttrakhand gained importance because of kedarnath temple , the temple is in rudhraprayag district at an elevation of 3,553 m from the sea level. Kedarnath is a hindu shrine dedicated to shiva kedarnath is first among panch kedar, & hindu legends says that the temple kedarnath was built by 5 pandavas the kedarnath temple is also in chota char dham or in 12 jyotirlingas.
RUDRANATH
Rudranath is a hindu temple dedicated to god shiva, located in the garhwal Himalayan mountains in uttrakhand,India. Located at 3,600 meters (11,800 ft) above sea level, this natural rock temple situated within a dense forest of
Rhododendron dwarfs and alpine pastures. The temple is the third temple to be visited in the panch kedar pilgrimage circuit.
MADHYAMAHESWAR
At the height of about 3,289 meters, Madhyamaheswar is the place where it is believed middle or navel part of shiva emerged. The temple lies in a beautiful green valley in the Mansoona village of garhwal Himalayas and is encircled by spectacular snow covered peak.
Trek to Madhyamaheswar can be undertaken from uniana, which is around 18km from ukhimath. The trek is 19km (approx) long and can be easily travelled till bantoli (some 10km from uniana) from bantoli the slope becomes sleeper and a little difficult.
Bantoli is also the place where Madhyamaheswar ganga merge with martyenda ganga,the beautiful wildlife, including the endangered Himalayan monal pheasant & Himalayan musk deer,waterfall and surrounding peaks makes this trek memorable.
KALPESHWAR
In kalpeshwar temple, lord Shiva's hairs (jatas) appeared as per hindu legends because of the long and tangled lock of shiva he is also called
Jaladhari or jateshwar. The temple of kalpeshwar is located in 5he tranquil and scenic urgam valley in chamoli district of uttrakhand at an elevation of 2,200 meters. Urgam valley, mainly covered in dense forest.
Located on Rishikesh-Badrinath road, is the place where one can reach urgam valley , from urgam there is an easy trek of 2km till kalpeshwar, on the trip from helang to kalpeshwar one witness the beautiful confluence of alkhanda or kalpganga Rivers.
